Be Loyal to Your Goals

In my last post I told everyone about the deal me and my husband had about me reaching a goal weight and receiving $500. If you’re here reading this, I’m sure you’re wondering if I got paid!

I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I've done an update! Life sure does have a way of taking over. Between work and taking care of the boys & the house & our weekly spiritual life, time has just flown by.

If you don’t know the details of the bet with the hubby you can read it here.

For those who are all caught up. Sadly, I didn’t reach the first goal. I however am not disappointed. I am proud of myself for what I did accomplish! At the beginning of this deal I weighed in at 213lbs that was Oct 1st. The goal was 190 by Dec 31st... I made it to 200lbs, 10lbs shy of receiving my money bag. I may not have got the dough, but I did lose some of mine! (fat roll decrease is always a win!) -13lbs was a great accomplishment for me, I hadn’t seen 200lbs on the scale in almost 10years!

Today is the 14th of January and I weighed this morning. Finally kicked it below 200!!

for those who need visual proof
I’ve been stuck there for at 200lbs for a couple weeks now. So seeing this, this morning was amazing!

Some days it’s hard for me to workout. I am tired. Toddlers are balls of non-stop energy, catering to my toddler & baby all day, on top of the other things I do, then working at night, it can be overwhelming mentally & physically at times.

Through all of the ups & downs... Consistency is key!

It is a challenge for me to eat below or at my 1800 calories. I’m still breastfeeding & will be for a while longer. The appetite can be absolutely ridiculous! It takes a lot of work to keep milk flowing, my body is still not just my own and I cannot survive off of coffee and bacon & a 1400 calorie day like I'd like to. My body is my baby's life right now. He's 7 months old and still barely showing interest in solids. He depends exclusively on his milk, which means Momma still has to sacrifice for him. Yes, it may mean a slower road to reach my goals, but he needs me and I won't danger my supply. But I will continue to do as much as I can!

Now I’m focusing on reaching the 2nd part of me & Hubby’s deal. In case you missed his comment on the last blog post:

"You can do it babe! Don’t forget another $500 awaits for the next targeted weigh in, in March!"

175lbs by end of March for more $$$ I am definitely going to push myself and do all I can to make that goal. I’ll need every penny of the money for a new wardrobe then!

As always you can follow my Instagram account for more consistent updates. If you’d like to see my food diary to see how & what I eat on a daily basis please drop a comment and let me know!

You have to be consistent. No one's perfect, no one has a flawless food diary. Missed a few workouts? Ok, so dive back in. Focus on why you started and keep going! You will meet your goals!

Challenge Accepted!

We're all in the car headed home after a HUGE lunch at a Chinese Buffet on Sunday, Sept 30th. We usually eat ourselves to the brim but this time we all behaved. Plus, I had to work that night and wasn't trying to feel like I was about to birth a food baby.

As we're riding I'm on one of my timeless rants about my eating. We were talking about my goal weight. That's when it happened...

The Challenge.

Hunby said "If you can get down to 190lbs by the end of December I'll give you my bonus check." I was like Yea... ok, sure buddy. But, he was serious. Serious enough to let me record him saying it again! LOL

So here we go! I started the next day. First thing I had to do was buy a scale, because it'd been months since I weighed. So, what's the damage? I weighed in on Monday morning (Oct 1st) at 213lbs. Which was less than I thought. Last update on my weight in my blog, with an actual scale... I weighed in at 227lbs. So the scale has been slowly moving in the right direction!

I am keeping my food diary on My Fitness Pal. I am sticking to Low-Carbs and I'm trying to workout, well... daily. I have been out of commission on workouts past few days because I strained my hip muscle. But it's almost 100% and it's finally pretty outside so I can start walking this fat off soon. I have also picked up a part time job, and just adding that extra activity to my days has made me more active. Also, less hungry. Which is great for the calorie count! I HAVE to eat at least 1800 calories a day to no interfere with my milk supply.

So as of Yesterday here's what I weighed. This is with 1 Week of good eating & I exercised when I could. But like I've said in my previous posts, Nutrition > Exercise.

210lbs! I lost 3lbs in week 1!! Yaaaaass!!

Now, I've calculated and for the remaining weeks until Dec. 31st I have to lose 1.7lbs per week. At first I though there's no way I'll ever get this money. But y'all I can do this! I just have to stay focused, and I gotta, say this money motivation has me fueled!

I will be back to update you on my progress, because it has helped me in the past to post here, another thing to help me keep my eyes on the prize!

Be sure to follow me on Instagram there I update daily & will begin to post more weight-loss oriented posts! See ya there!
